Ashland Grizzlies beat Cra
ter High 9 to 1 in baseball,
scoring seven runs in the first
two innings last Saturday in a
practice tilt on AHS turf.
Steve Harris started the scor
ing spree in the first inning
with a walk. Paul Alley follow
ed with a single blast, and Dic
kerson walked. Mike Brewer
walked and Harris scored. Get
tling drove a single and
brought in Alley and Dicker
son. Brewer came in on an
error to first.
Tom Sample scored for Cra
ter in the first inning. In the
second inning scored three
with singles by Harris, Alley,
Dickerson, Gettling, and Stem
pie. The scoring in the third
came with triple by Tucker,
scoring Stemple.
The Batteries were: Ashland,
Stemple, McKinnis and Tucker.

Wrapping up its Southern
Oregon conference slate, Ash-
land dropied a 53-47 decision
to Grants Pass on March 6, and
a 63-42 decision to Medford,
March 7.
In their final game of the
season, me cavemen outscorea
the Grizzlies 15 to 8 in the
third quarter. Quarterly scores
favored Grants Pass 13-10. 26
21, and 41-29. Ten of the Griz-
zli'es' scores came in the last
two minutes of the game.
Bob Johnson led the scoring
with 13 points for the Griz-
es.
Medford High compiled an
amazing .458 shooting percent-
age in defeating the Grizzlies

look back at a rather unsuc-
cessfui season.
The Grizzlies' two wins and
20 losses are all that could be
exPected as the Grizzlies, as a
team, hit only 231 field goals
out of 79 trys for a .294 shoot-
ing average. The Grizzlies' op-
ponents attempted 785
shots
making 317 for a .404 averaee
