ABOUT LAKEVIEW..
Despite an opening game loss
to the Roseburg Indians the
Ashland Grizzlies are looking
forward to their first home

boast the weight as their op

good speed in backs, Al Mc
Kinnis and Steve Gray. They
are both returning lettermen
and show great promise for
the remainder of the season.

JV's are smaller this year, we
are going to pour it on," said

four juniors and the rest sopho-;

The starting lineup is Mike'
McCartney and Russ Blair,
tackles; Dick Allen and Glen
Tabor, guards; Lee Scott, cen
ter; Jim Stewart and Glen
Moses, ends; Dennis Nason
and Forrest Farmer, halfbacks;
Bob Georgiana, fullback; and
James Doster, quarterback.
Susee
Big Art Kiser is playing cen
ter with Bob Voris playing
quarterback for the Grizzlies.
Despite a noted lack of ex

head football coach Varney
Corey and assistant coach Bill
Leybold, are doing an excel
lent job in preparing the Griz
zlies for their opening confer
ence game against Grants Pass
on October 17.
Three of four conference
games at home may give the
Grizzlies a small edge over
their opponents during the '58
season.
