FIRESTONE STORE ON THE PLAZA m stops f3E'C9 School V rP" Needs GOING STEADY YOUR ROVING REPORTER Nosing around to find the opinions of AHS students and faculty on going steady, I came up with some interesting and varying answers. Mr. Windt: It depends on how old you are. When you go steady you miss all the other pebbles on the beach, but that is OK if you aren't a geogolist. (Well maybe I'm not exactly a geologist, but I love those peb bles!) Pat Roach: It's o k. Donna Bibeau: Well, I'm go ing steady so I think it's o. k. Shirlee Riley: I like it. it's nice. Mia Raphorst: For most kids it's just a little game. For me it's no game, it means more. Mr. Lomax: It depends on how old you are and what your objectives are in life. Seniors might have good social basis for going steady. Phyllis Mapes: It's an ad vantage because you have a date for different functions, but it's a disadvantage in ways. too. Jo Ann James: I like it. Dale Messier: I think it stinks. Joyce Blunt: I think it's the most wonderful thing that ev er happened to mankind! Eugene Rashe: I like it. Gordon Carr: If you get along okay and have the same interests, it's all right. Vic Lively: It's all right, I like it. Darlene Hanscom: I would n't mind it if I'd see him once in a while. Mark Fitch: I don't like it. It costs too much. Ben Jamison: I agree with Fitch, but being as I'm al ways broke, it's okay. Kathy Guinn: It's okay if you like the person a whole bunch. I don't think you should do it just for nothing. Emma Hakes: I don't like it. I think it's more fun to go out with two or more couples. Meta Miller: I don't know; I've never gone steady. (Nope, just been engaged umpteen times!) Pat Parham: I don't think kids should limit themselves to one person unless they know for sure they are going to be engaged later. (There seem to be a lot of kids who feel as Pat does. When you go steady you are tied down. It can be a lot of fun if you have the same in terests and enjoy being togeth-. er, but you also take the chance of breaking up and not having a date.) Kathy Ingle: I don't like it. When you break up you're kind of standing still you don't know anyone. (That's what I mean, Kathy.) Dean Mason: Oh, lovely! Jeanette Therres: I like it I'm for it! Dean Root: For some people it's okay, for others it's not so good. I like to strike a happy medium. (True - very true. Some cou ples would rather go steady than run the risk of losing each other. If they really think a lot of each other, that's smart.) Now here is a gem! All sen iors take notice (and Mr. Lew is, alias Cupid's Foremost Foe!) Bcnnic Thompson: Who gets time, what with econ?
