Sander's Slander
by Sandy Sander
Oh, goody Christmas vaca
tion is almost here. I can hard
ly wait till those joyous dismis
sal bells ring out the news. I
can't leave, however without
passing on the following jollies.
Donna Howell and Toby Fox
are getting a nice send off by
becoming the third and fourth
of the trashy ones. They both
look quite becoming in waste
cans. (But they look good in
anything, eh. Gene Long.
Noel Turner must either
grow up or take more of an
interest in speech. Really
Noel, playing paper dollsl
If you'll pardon the pun I'd
like to mention Smitty's shady
experience in the study hall.
Nasty, naughty, mustn't touch!
School property you know.
(Speaking of Smitty, why do
they call him Santa?)
Mr. Green seems to be ex
panding his front lawn busi
ness. Antique beds, no less.
This brings us to the mis
hap of K. O. (Knocked-out)
Keene. Poor Pat. really goes
all out in bookkeeping.
Now for the announcement
of another of Heather MacDou
gall's cool moves. While she
was having her own car repair
ed (it needed it), Walt DeBoer
loaned her a '48 DeSoto to
drive. One day, as she started to
drive away, she found' that the
car wouldn't. She became fran
tic, called Walt. He came down,
examined the auto, left, and
came back with a can of gas.
That's all it needs, Teddie, just
a little gas.
Gee Gee Hodgins was sur
prised a couple of Saturday
nights ago. She had set out
in dirty clothes for Barbara
Johnsons, where she was
planning to help with some
dirty work for Miss Betty
Lasher. Mrs. Keenan called
the two up to Jeannie's where
much to unsuspecting Gee's
amazement was presented a
very lovely birthday pa-ty.
- All had a joyous lime ww-
ing T.V. and playing pool 1
until the electricity went out.
Then smoke filled the room
(from candles, of course) and
everyone was stumbling over
bottles (Coke bottles, of cou
rse.) Ann Winters made an inter
esting yell leader's leap at the
Frosh basketball game. Don't
blame Ann, though, she might
just have been following the
example of someone else. We
must learn, however, that the
idea is to land on one's feet.
I'm in an awful hurry to get
home. You cats have a real cra
zy Christmas now! Bye.
Quotable Quoles
Almost everyone has a favor
ite expression. Once in a while
someone comes out with some
original quip.
Here are a few wise remarks
that might be heard in the halls
or classes:
Mr. Lewis: See what I
mean?
Mrs. Taylor: That's the first
mistake I ever made.
Noel Turner: I know all
there is to know about angels.
Heather MacDougall: If there
is food I'll go.
Shirley Rolie: Shish.
Bill Workman: Either shut
up or you'll be wearing your
teeth for a necklace.
Bob Williams: I'm going to
give you the blast.
Richard Schulz: What about
that!
Richard Barksdale: Wnen
asked what are the two main
problems of High Schol: Boys
and Girls.
Betty Paschke: Irritation.
Larry Kerr: Well, Kiddies
when I've made my second mil
lion I'll invite you all over and
give you World War II tax tok
ens.
Sandy Sanders: Did I ever
tell you about the time ?
