Car of fhe Month
Nearly 16 years ago, Henry
Ford produced a car which is
almost as popular now as it
was then, evidenced by the '39
Ford coupe driven by Al Lor
enze, senior.
Al's car has a dark green
paint job, covered in spots
with black primer, which
shows that some body work
has been done, the most notice
able being the trunk, which has
been leaded, and now opened
with a hood latch run up to the
rear window.
Al is running a '40 Mercury
block, equipped with dual Ford
"94" pots, a 3-4 race cam and
oversized racing pistons to fit
the cylanders which were bored
out to 60 thousands over. The
heads were milled also, but the
precise amount is not known.
The car has been raked two
inches and dual pipes were in
stalled for the finish.
Some of the "extras" include
a column shift from a '40 Ford,
hydraulic brakes, white side
wall tires and a green and
white leatherette interior.
Al soon hopes to have a full
house Merc, under the hood
and a real sharp paint job.

Sander's Slander
by Sandy Sander
Here 'tis back again with the
usual popping or I should say
splatterings. What's this, you
say someone lost their marbles
No, only Nancy Bundock losing
her beads in speech class. Hope
we got them all recovered.
Nancy, they were really quite
pretty.
It appears that Mr. Green is
going into the Real Estate bus
iness. Anyway a sign reading
"Motel for Sale" was discover
ed on his front lawn. Hmm!
Speaking of teachers and
jobs, at a senior class meet
ing. Miss Germeroih was
handed an occupational ques
tionaire by the representa
tive. Not giving up teaching
already G.? We enjoy you
younger teachers.
And speaking of questions,
Lee Anne Leach asked John
Hauck an interesting one. She
said, "John, are you going
steady with Sharon (Hauck)? 1
see you together an awful lot.'
Look Lee Anne, I don't want
to hurt your feelings, but it
might be advisable to pay a lit
tle more attention to last names
hereafter.
My apologies to Jim Hall, it's
a black bomb now. Only I did
not see him drive this one for
a while, either. Which brings
about mention of Jerry Roden
meyer's missing auto and the
night Heather MacDougall's car
mysteriously disappeared. By
the way, we've noticed that the
pipes have too, and they won't
be back.
Jerry "The Jerk" Price
and his vandalism gang are
holding meetings at their un
derworld hideout, "The Sec
ond Chance" every Sunday
night. All thugs interested
drop around.
Pat Keene and Shirley Rolie
surely are a trashy pair. They
have been seen recently stand
ing or sitting in the middle of
trash cans. Most becoming.
girls. Guess who put Pat in the
can? Old "Heave Ho" Sparling
herself. Pat commented that
she didn't know Miss Sparling
was so strong, Maybe it's just
that Pat's not so heavy.
Well, there twas.' See you
again.
