Club Hews
Leiermen's Club under the
leadership of Genei, Allison
started the year by selling pen
cils with the football schedule
on them. Another past event
was the annual barn dance. On
the agenda for Spring is initia
tion of new members and the
annual picnic.
' Library Club Mr. Green
keeps his club busy in the li
brary checking books in and
out. They also have taken
charge of the arranging of the
art exhibit and the photog
raphy contest exhibit which ap
pears in the study hall and li
brary. They launched a candy
sale last week to provide the
funds for needed materials
Mrs. Taylor's Pep Club
worked hard with the A.H.S.
Band in presenting the half-
time shows at football games.
These girls also were seen in
uniform at all the basketball
Eames.
Art Club under Mr. Lind
ley's supervision is planning an
exhibit downtown in the near
future.
National Thespian Society
Troup 954 under the guidance
of Miss Laura M. Grubbs, first
drew local attention this year
with their presentation of "Ev
er Since Eve." Since then they
have fceen working hard pre
senting programs and plays for
faculty and P.T.A. groups.

No one will know until the
results of the senior aptitude
tests come back In the near fu
ture. These tests were given by
the Oregon Employment Ser
vice and consisted mainly of
various mental tests and skill
in using your hands.
Most of the students who
took part in these tests found
them quite entertaining as well
as enlightening. One boy was
heard to remark that "it's get
ting pretty good when you get
out of two hours of school just
to stick round pegs in a board
of round holes."
Those same tests have re
vealed some strange things in
the past. For instance, in one of
the schools it was found that
one of their most scholarly
gyrls was best suited to be

two clubs instructed by Mr.
Poland Parks and Mr. Eldon
Cirtheii. Studying game laws,
learning fishing . and casting
techniques, and how to handle
puns are their main objectives
Thcv are planning an overnight
camping and fishing trip to
Emmiyrant Lake in the spring.
Ncediecr&fi Club. Under the
direction of Mrs. Gladys Banks,
the nirls are .sewing pillow slips
crocheting, embroidering, and
knitting for hope chests.

She was born in Crescent City,
California, in 1937.
She attended school in San
Bernardino, and Gasquet, Cal
ifornia, until she moved to Ash
land in her Freshman year.
After graduation, she would
like to be a secretary; then get
mechanic, and another girl was married in a few years "all

Her favorite subject is book
keeping; she also likes tennis,
.swimming, bowling and watch
ing football games.
Joan's ideal boy should be 6'
2" tall, have black hair, and
dark eye.?, drive a black and
white Ford, and attend South
ern Oregon College, but she
would settle for someone else.
Her favorite color is blue
and yellow and her songs are
"Make Love to Me," and 'Till
We Two are One." Her favorite
food is banana-nut bread and

after graduation.
GARY BURGESS
If you hear a loud noise be
hind you while out walking,
you are liable to see Gary Bur
gess roaring down the streets
on his motorcycle.
Gary was born October 18,
1935 in the Pelican city, Klam
ath Falls. He attended school
there until moving to Ashland
where he has been ever since.
Gary, after completing his
sen'or year this spring, intends
to celebrate "can you blame
him after all?" His pet expres
sion is "cops." He isn't particu
lar about his "ideal" so he
must be very fussy. He likes
friendliness In girls and dis
likes "cops" who stop you for
something.
As far as music goes, he
likes "Bimbo" and "A'mor."
For his pastime, he likes to
work on "hot rods" and cycles.
After graduation he intends to
become a lumberman.
JUDY TWEDELL
This cute, friendly senior
was born in Medford on Feb
ruary 9, 1936. She then moved
to Eagle Point for four years,
Phoenix for one, Griffin Creek
for two, then back to Medford
for a year and finally to Ash
land In her sophomore year
"She certainly has been
around" it seems.
After graduation she Intends
to go to work. Her pet peeve is
to stay in bed and take medi
cine "how strange." Her
favorite subject is homemak-
ing and she likes to read and
cook. She plans to marry the
fellow in the Black '40 Chevy,
July 2.
She has a sister in junior
high and a brother who lives
in Los Angeles.
Her favorite record is "Rags
to Riches," and "blue" is her
favorite color.
After her marriage, she is
moving to California where
Jim will attend college.

movie projectors for the high
school faculty. They plan an
annual picnic this spring.
Yell Leaders and Majorettes.
. Their duties consist mainly of
leading yells at games, pep as
semblies, and other gatherings.
They present half-time and
pre-game performances, also.

Car of the Month
Owned by Andy DeKorte,
this "car of the month" was
originally a 1932 Ford. Andy
received his car last Christmas
and since then he has been
making a few changes on it,
making it the best custom built
job around the school.
Among the more difficult
jobs of customizing this car
was, leading in the dash, re
building the 1942 Ford engine,
raising the fender welds, chan
neling 44 inches in the front
and 10 inches in back.
Andy has done most of this
work himself at home and at

and artistic characterizations.
The American Indian Dancers
will perform for the student
body on May 11.
