Answering the phone, typing, marking absentees, running the duplicator or the stencil are a few jobs these girls do. But all the girls enjoy it. It is a lot of fun, and Mrs. Eileen Wright, Mr. Parks' secretary. Is a lot of fun to work with. The first period office girl is Pat Austin; second period, Dolores Miller; third period, Barbara Van Vleet and Shir lene Folks, alternating; fourth period, Sara Jamison; fifth pe riod, Pat Nicholson and Carol Fowler, alternating; and sixth period is Sue Thorpe. It is a previlege for these girls to work in the office, and the girls are getting in an opportunity to see what it is like to work in an office. No school credit or grade is awarded for the work; there fore these students donate their time to helping in the office even though they might have other tasks which would de serve priority. Art typing devoted to Christmas is decor ating the room. Under the di rection of Laura Hershey, typ ing students have been practic ing design typing and have made many original Christmas scenes. Last period stenography class saw the movie "Duties of the Secretary," Wednesday, December 3. The movie gave the girls several pointers on office work. Office practice class has been a busy class. The students have been addressing Christ mas seal envelopes for the townspeople. Besides being helpful, the students are get ting good practice. MAKE THEIR XMAS MORE JOYFUL How would you like to write a lettet to someone who is in the service? If you write a letter of such a nature, you will not only give the serviceman a morale lifter but you will learn some thing about him and his expe riences. A letter from you on Christmas will make him know you appreciate the sacrifice he is making and are interested in his welfare and in peace. This little senior girl was born in Los Angeles, Califor nia, January 14, 1936. During her junior year .she was second vice president of Girls' League and a yell lead er. This year she is president of Needlecraft Club and presi dent of the Swimming Club. She says that her most excit ing moment was getting en gaged. The most embarrassing moment she has had was over a comment that she made con cerning Wayne South's shirt one Halloween. "By dingy, dongy," is her favorite expression and her pet peeve is people who mistreat animals. If present plans materialise, Pat plans on getting married after graduation. Support the advertisers. Richie has lived In Ashland since August 9, 1935 when he was Dorn. tie is one oi me lew who has gone to Ashland schools all twelve years. He was on the Varsity foot ball team during his junior and senior years and belongs to Letterman's Club and Co-ed Hi-Y. Going on trips and playing football are his favorite pas times, and his pet peeve is peo ple who mess up the white sidewalls on his car. Five foot two inches, blond hair, blue eyes, weight 110 pounds, and good looking are the requirements for his ideal girl! After graduation, Richie plans to attend college. He has not made up his mind as to which one, but it will be eith er Oregon State or Willamette. (During the last part of her sec ond year, she moved to Ash- !and and has been here ever since. Her most embarrassing mo ment was when she and Bar bara Rensficld went to the Steak House and ordered hot chocolate. Now there's nothing embarrassing about that, but they didn't have any money. Ask Dodie how they got out of that one! Dodie's pet peeve is Richie Taylor, and her favorite say ing is "Awwww." She likes to spend her time listening to rec ords and eating "Checzics." Her best liked actor is Dale Robertson, and Debbie Rey nolds tops her list among ac tresses. Dolores doesn't know what she is going to be when she graduates, but she says she is going to San Francisco as soon as school is out.
