There pn bably have never been two ships that were
exactly alike, yet every ship has one tiling, that is a
name.
The Class of 'XI has chosen for its identification the
motto givtn above in quotation inaiks. The ship they are
launching bears that crest on its hull.
Just as Columbus, Magellan, and other such men down
to IJndbergh wcte all dreamers, so must we dream and
plan. Rut heft re we can adequately do either, we must
have preparation.
One stage of this piepaiation is now completed. Many
are about to begin plans for the later life; others desire
to be more fully prepared. Kegardless of this, however, it
will be soon when we all face life.
We must then be careful to keep cur latio of Dreams
and Deeds correct, and not be merely dreamers or dull
with overwork.
Success will come to hint who thinks fust and then
works diligently for the fulfillment of his ideas.
We must all launch our ship, where will it anchor t

don't watch out! As soon as ev
ery graduating Senior has had
his record of credits checked and
oked at the beginning of his fin
al semester, the heretofore in
distinct lines of that old bug
bear begin to loom more vividly,
coming closer and closer with
the passing weeks. And alack a
day and woe is he if he cannot
show the English department
that he has already or Is about
to complete the requirements of
what has become by tradition, a
gloating fiend.
Lest we forget, the original
Intent of the authorities was that
each student before graduating
should present personally some
characteristic but fairly scholas
tic work that would prove to the
waiting world that he was pre
pared to take his place in public
affairs without a quaver. Some
are allowed to write a thousand
word discussion on some topic of
research If they cannot speak be
fore the student body.

with brilliant polish. We won't
mention names, but we do won
der who passes It around.

To Be Announced Today
Advance predictions on the
outcome of the regular Student
Body elections that were held
with results to be announced to
day, are numerous and diverse.
with groups of students that ac
tively supported certain candi
dates anxiously awaiting the results.
Candidates for the various of
fices were nominated by petitions
bearing 30 names and were nu
merous. Those running for pres
ident were Wade Hanson, Ivan
Keeney. Carl Fehlge, and Head
rick Baughman.
For vice-president, a boy and
a girl are running, Wanda Purves
and Wilbur Sherfey.
These two officers and the
secretary must be from the in
coming Senior class. The second
vice-presidential nominees, from
the incoming Junior class, are
Caroline Rose McNeal, Alicia Ap-
plegate. Robert Hardy, and Deane
Home.
