(By DAVID JOHNSON) With the basketball season oy er, the Llthlan athletes are now coming into track and spring football. Track, however. Is the activity that is holding the major interest at present. There was a fine tournout, which quickly dwindled down to the customary twenty. The school purchased a shot and a discus, in addition to leveling a running track, dig glng a Jumping pits, and erect ing high-Jump, pole-vault, and hurdle frames. Pole Vault Wallin. The sophomores, under the coaching fft Harvey Gearhart, played an organized and accur ate brand of ball. At times, their laying equalled that of a var sity quintet. The Juniors, coached by Keller Mabbot, at times showed good floor work but seemed unable to hit the basket. Their games were usually featured by a cer tain amount of unnecessary roughness. The Seniors, tutored by Pres ton Becot, and Kenneth Darling, never seemed to hit their stride. Their first two games showed promise, but they seemed to drop from that point. They were weak on defense and the ball was In every territory most of the time. The P. G.'s started out with every man playing a different brand of ball. The sophomore class slated to be the underlog in school activities came Into its own in the recent Inter-class Basketball League. Four teams, over thiryt boys, .took part in 12 games. The competition this year was even stronger than usual, and those who followed the series saw some exciting ball playing. The dopesters of the school had the Juniors slated to win, but they pulled out of a slump only In time to take second place.
