the witching hour and time for
midnight lunch.
With the latter part of the
above sentence and paragraph in
mind, Rosamund, the fair he
roine of this narrative, went
sliding down the banister to

In group A, niche No. 2, we

Hamaker. With a tasteful back

of a mustard colored jacket
(maybe it's horse radish.) this
smiling youth appears to be the
gallant of the school.
But that isn't all. You know,
down In the library there are
signs all over the walls saying
History, General Arts, et cetera.
Well, this lad painted 'em. Many
hours he toiled, neither did he

spinach upon his brow. Dashing right effect on the signs so thov
the evidence of a midnight re-1 would catch your eye and you

you are surprised to see me eh?"
"Surprised isn't the word for

pigtails and deshabille, "What

Oscar, help, help, help!"
"Scream, me proud beauty,

lot of good it will do you'. Then,
suddenly, waxing furious and
producing a frosty document from
his Ice coated vest pocket, he
waved It in her face.
"Will you slgn-n-n-n-n"? he
rasped.
"E-e-e-e-e-e-e-K!" was the
equally long reply. "
"I'll- make you tell", he said,
heating an Icicle in the flame.

The A. H. S. second team prov
ed too much for Jacksonville by
a, score of Sl-0. Making large
holes in the Miners' line our
boys would rush through for
great gains. Their only weakness
seemed to be their inability to
convert the extra point. Jackson
ville fought hard, but thay were
unable to make any yardage
against the second team's line.

Chapter S
(As three comes after two,
this MUST be Chapter S.)
The huge grand-daddy's clock
standing In the hall burst into
musical soundings which ceased,
stopped, and were 'otherwise si
lenced as soon as they had reeled
and peeled off notes to the num

the boy and girl chosen from the
rtudent body. These two stu
dents - must represent the best
in citizenship, scholarship and
conduct. They must also be
prominent in outside activities.
Matt Thompson said, among
other thinss. that "we must not
disparage the makers of cur
laws. It Is because of our actions
that these law, are made. They
are made to keep us in harmony,
to protect our citizens, and to
promote welfare. You must edu
cate yourselves to follow the
general line of the laws to the
best of your ability and make of
these laws and your country a
success. If this country of oil's
were a Utopia, we would have
no need of laws. But we are not
perfect and never will be. There
fore it is for you. the student, to
make your comjng career above
reproach in order for vou to
stand out."
Mr. Thompson concluded with
the points on which the cup is
awarded. They are, briefly, ton
duct, scholarship, athletic ability,
and attitude.
