Thomas. “The problem is getting people
out on weekends to patrol,” Thomas said.
“There’s always a great initial response to
what we do.”
The group is seeking proactive LGBTQ_
citizen and allied volunteers for training
and volunteering to help keep the streets
safe from anti-gay discrimination and vio­
lence. Q_ Patrol was formed by concerned
citizens, anti-violence organizations, city
officials and others in 2010 in response to
an increased number of gay bashings in
downtown Portland.
