misdemeanor bias crimes charge character

fensive physical contact”or subjecting them
to alarm by threatening either physical

one year in prison and $6,250 in fines.
Simpson said only Sietlce was charged
with intimidation because he was allegedly
the only one using anti-gay language. If
both men had used hate speech during the
alleged attack, both would have been charged
with intimidation one, which is a felony.
While there was no weapon involved in
this case, a Shawn Siefke is listed as a mixed
martial arts competitor at the Rose Garden.
Sgt. Simpson said that if the Siefke arrested
in connection with the attack is an expert in
mixed martial arts, that wouldn’t influence
the charges, but it could come up in court.
“An assault is an assault, whether you’ve
never fought in your life or you have mixed
martial arts training,” Simpson said. Still,
