Charles Ludlam’s Obic and Drama Desk award-winning play, running May 13-29 at Hillsboro’s Bag and Baggage Theatre, casts two actors in eight dif ferent roles, in what makes for an identity crisis of the trippiest order. The plot concerns the titular lady, late mistress of Mandacrest Manor and friend of the occult. Her linger ing presence vexes the new gal of the house, former ac tress Lady Enid, and its staff, to say nothing of the wolf lurking about the estate. BScB director Patrick Spike describes the Hitchcock-meets- Wuthering Heights- meets-Poe-meets-Shakespeare scenario as an homage, “all thrown in a blender on frappc funny.
