CAP executive director Michael Kaplan reported that more than 620 guests attended the Patron dinner, while some 1,200 guests attended overall. With 300 pieces of art available for purchase via live and silent auction, the organization’s goal of raising $500,000 was surpassed by more than $25,000—though an official total had not been announced as of press time. Performances by the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus and Storm Large capped the highly successful fundraiser. “Having [the] Portland Gay Men's Chorus there was fantastic,” says Kaplan. “It just felt like bringing things full circle and honoring CAP's history, as they played such a critical role in providing start-up funds 25 years ago.” For more inform ation on Cascade A ID S Project, v isit cascadeaids.org.
