and Saturday, May 7 during a unique fund
raising event. Eve Ensler’s groundbreaking
work will be augmented to include bringing
trans-women and queer-identified persons
from various backgrounds together to convey

land State University’s Sexual and Gender
M inority Youth Capstone Class and the
Queer Resource Center, N ight of Noise
brings LGBTQ_youth and allies ages 12-23
together to share stories and experiences
around the national Day of Silence.
Farther south, The Domino Room in Bend,
Ore. (51 N W Greenwood Ave.) hosts “That’s
So Gay," a Night of Noise celebration, also on
April 15, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. The event fea
tures an open mic organized by Queer Youth
Space, stand-up comedian Chris Doucette
from New York City and Portland drag-com
edy duo ChiChi and Chonga.

11th Annual Red Dress Party Saturday, April
16. The fundraiser, this year themed “Red Hot,”
takes place at 535 N W 10th Ave. at Hoyt Street
in the Pearl District.
All proceeds raised benefit Q_Center, Pivot
and the YWCA of Clark County’s SafeChoice
Program. Online ticket sales are no longer avail
able, but some general admission tickets may

Bill and Ann Shepherd Legal Scholarship
Fund, will be held at The Old Church (1422

poser and soprano Theresa Koon, back by
popular demand. Honorary co-chairs of this
year’s Shepherd Fund include Charles Hinkle,

annual Queer Students o f Color Confer
ence April 29 through May 1. The confer
ence is designed to provide resources, leader
ship, training and skills through workshops
that engage, stimulate and bring awareness to
the unique issues that affect queer students of
color and the communities they occupy.
W hile the conference’s focus is on queer
students of color, heterosexual and white al
lies are welcome to join in on conversations as
participants. There is a $10 registration fee at
