Peter Pan Project explores the trials
and tribulations of being an adult
Neil Sedaka was onto something with his signature song
“Breaking Up Is Hard to Do.” However, I sometimes
wonder if he should have substituted the first word with
“growing” because let’s face it— nothing is more difficult
than the process of becoming an adult.
The Peter Pan Project, a new play by the Working
Theatre Collective, examines this age-old issue in detail. A
collaborative work by Sean Andries, Sara Lynn Herman,
Craig Lamm, Alex Leigh Ramirez and director Ashley
Hollingshead, this conceptual yet heartfelt piece tries to
explain the complexities and intricacies of what happens
when a child is forced to leave Nevcrland and face the stark
realities of adulthood—matters such as “trudging from
