Oregonians from all walks of life gathered
together in remembrance and celebration
of the 22nd Annual World AIDS Day.

In Portland, the day began with breakfast
at the HIV Day Center and ended with
bingo and scantily clad young men selling
raffle tickets to raise funds to continue the
work of Cascade AIDS Project.
At the Living Vigil, those in attendance
shared in the pain of a heartbreaking story
of family rejection and suffering. A lone
memorial quilt panel hung on the wall in
remembrance of the thousands of similar
panels once found across the nation—past
times of AIDS activism joined together
in massive, meaningful demonstrations in
our nation s capital. Where have all the
panels gone?
