The novel is the sequel to W ood’s award-winning debut, Naked in the Rain. Afterglow picks up where Naked in the Rain left off, following the lives o f two teen age boys who quit working in a brothel and try to make it out on their own. The quest leads them on a cross-country journey marred by drugs, coming to terms with their sexuality and fidelity, and ending up in Port land to find a new home. “I ’m honored and thrilled that Afterglow has been recognized by U SA Book News as a finalist,” said Wood, who aside from her authoring efforts also edits for Crooked Hills Publishing and works for Cascade A ID S Project. “Writing this book and get ting it ready to publish was an emotional rollercoaster that took many years and a lot o f work.
