Portland Pride Cruise

Hop aboard this two-hour cruise for a
two-level dance party at sea. Portland staple
DJ Harmonix will supply the beats, from
tribal house to circuit anthems and more.
The 21-and-up event also features cocktails
and passed hors doeuvres, and the beloved
Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be on
deck for assorted fun and fundraising.
Tickets are $36 until June 15, with room
available for 450 revelers, via brownpaper-
tickets.com. Any remaining tickets will be
sold at the dock for $40 two hours prior to

Chorus Presents "Music
from the Heartland"

PGMC events are a year-round highlight,
and this June’s performance is no exception.
The PGMC will join Heartland Men’s Cho­
rus of Kansas City, Mo. for a concert show­
casing distinctively American styles including
folk, spiritual, songs of protest, barbershop
and more. From “This Land is Your Land”
to “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho,"arrange­
ments will span Native-, Mexican- and Af­
rican-American traditions. Also on the pro­
gram: the world premiere of a composition
for men’s chorus and electric cello by Portland
composer Gideon Freudmann, an appearance
by leading local mezzo-soprano Jennifer Gill
and three new arrangements of American
folk classics (among them, “Shenandoah”),
courtesy of the PGM C’s guests from Kansas
City. Just think: 2 choirs, 200 golden voices,
