The PEN American Center is the U.S. branch of the world’s oldest international literary and human rights organization. The Sixth Annual PEN World Voices Festival features 150 writers in 40 countries and more than 50 events worldwide. Miracle Theatre Group is co-presenting González’s appear ance along with Liter ary Arts and Powell’s Books, in partnership with Portland Latino Gay Pride and Los Porteños Latino writ ers group. He brings such a unique perspective to his work.” An English reading by González will be followed by an in-depth conversation between former Miracle Theatre Board President Cindy Williams Gutierrez and González. There will also be a Q_and A session at the conclusion of the program, and audiences are invited to a complimentary post-reading re ception in the Miracle Theatre lobby catered by La Bonita restaurant. Attendees will have a chance to meet González in person, as well as have books signed. “We’re thrilled to work with Literary Arts and Powell’s to bring this celebrated author to town for his first visit to Portland,” said Krause, “and to share the work of this amaz ing artist with the community first-hand.” For more information on this event, visit milagro.org.
