NIGHTLIFE
Blow Pony gallops to a new stable across the river
Blow Pony has been a popular trans-in
clusive, body and sex-positive queer dance
night for quite a while now. M ost o f the time
it packed its Eagle Underground digs to the
point that bumping back to front with strang
ers was inevitable, whether you were grinding
it on the dance floor or simply waiting in line
for a cocktail.
Lately, however, the night has been get
ting more attention for the controversy and
discussion that surrounds it, rather than the
hedonistic joy it provides. O n Pride week
end several assaults outside the club forced
organizers to begin thinking about ways to
assure Blow Pony was a safe place. A queer
town hall brainstorming session was held and

at the next monthly event, Saturday, July 11,
additional security was in place.
The night was fun and as placid as Blow
Pony can ever be called, but that marked the
last time the party was to be held in its down
town venue. According to Sleezo, one o f the
Pony Kru:

Despite all the drama, the party must can
ter on. It is time to turn our attention to the
excitement that a new, larger space holds for
Blow Pony. The highly sexual horse is back
on the trail with a “Don’t call it a comeback!”
mantra that promises tranny-on-tranny ac

any other queer thing you can dream up Sat
