Historic Inn Reopens in the Gorge
The View Point Inn and Restaurant,
at Crown Point reopened on
Memorial Day 2007. Just 25 minutes
from Portland, it was built in 1924 as
a destination spot for tourism along
the
Historic Columbia River
Highway. The Inn hosted such guests
as Franklin D. Roosevelt, Charlie
Chaplin, European Royalty,- and
tourists from all over the world. The
Inn sits on a one acre bluff overlook
ing the Columbia River Gorge, the
city lights of Portland and Vancouver.
