wanna roll with gay guys. I’m not gonna show up at
the Source Awards anytime soon, you know?
TLT: The other night I was listening to your
album, (jet Into It, and I realized I’ve heard “All
Over Your Face” many times before on the dance
floor, but I didn’t know it was you.
Congratulations on having a nasty, hot hit single.
C: Thanks! Get Into It is just the beginning.
I want to create my own scene that 1 can refer to as
my sound. I’m getting closer to the truth, and it’s a
really fun time right now, because people are just
finding out about me. I’m going to do a song for my
next album called “I Saw Beyonc£ at Burger King”
that’s going to be hilarious. And it’s based on a true
story.
TLT: I like what you say about how rhymes
and rapping are like spells. I like people who
believe in magic, because I do, too. It seems like
you have some positive mental attitude going on.
Would you say that’s part of the reason you’re
starting to have this success?
C: Definitely. Everything we say is attracted
back to us. That’s why people who talk a lot of shit
tend to lead miserable lives. Amanda Lepore has
been a big influence on me that way; she’s really
helped me become a better person. She knows how
to think positive and live content. I consider her a
friend first and a collaborator second.
TLT: How strong would you rate your libido
on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being asexual and 10
being a complete nymphomaniac?
C: Eleven. Wait, does masturbation count?
Then 13. Hey, sex rules our lives, right? Particularly
for men. It's sex, food and shelter—those are the
things we need. I am very sexual, but I do have
standards. My songs are mostly about my personal
ity when I’m having sex.
TLT: What’s the best thing about being gay?
C: How easy it is to hook up! Guys are just on
the same level, whether you’re gay or straight. I’ve
seriously had encounters where I look at a guy and
we start making out without even saying any
thing—it’s just understood. So when you’re talking
about two guys, you don’t have to jump through all
the hoops you need to get through when you’re
hetero. I mean, 1 love women, but straight guys will
swim through puke to get pussy. Gay guys don’t
have that stress; they don’t have to play the game
as much. The fact is, here in New York, even the
most mediocre-looking gay sex addict can get more
sex than a hot-looking straight guy.

TLT: What was it like coming of age in
Worcester?
C: I’ve always referred to it as the armpit stain
of New England. You know, it’s kind of trashy;
there are lots of check-cashing places, lots of
heroin traffic. I went back there last month to visit,
and it’s starting to have this apocalyptic feel to it—
all these stores boarded up, kind of like Flint, Mich.
The good thing about growing up there was that it
was easy to find creative people, because they stuck
together.

TLT: For president in 2008: Hillary Clinton
or Amanda Lepore?
C: Ha! Hillary, definitely. Amanda can’t be
president. If there was some sort of beauty division
of the federal government, she could be president
of that. Like President of Lingerie, or Queen
Tranny of the Universe. Amanda wants to stay in
and get her nails done, then go out to the club
later, you know? She’s not really the presidential
type. I do think she would rock those sexy suits,
though. •
