TV Series Puts Gaydar to the Test
In each episode of Lifetime Television’s new
reality series Qay, Straight or Taken?, a beautiful
young straight woman meets three gorgeous
hunks. As they get to know each other during the
course of the day, she must decide, as the title
implies, which one is gay, which one is straight
and taken, and which is the single straight guy.
I’m not sure if “reality” is the right word to
describe shows such as these; they have little to do
with real life. But Gay, Straight or Taken! is good-
natured and filled with homoerotic eye candy.
The first episode’s contestant is Jenner, a
gorgeous, blond real estate agent. As she meets
the dazzling trio of Luciano, Mike and Chris, they
