regon Leather Pride Week is
coming soon, and 1 know you
want to look hot and sexy. So
where can you shop in
Portland for leather and
fetish wear? Here’s a shoppers guide:
For leather products such as chaps, stop off
at Langlitz Leather, 2443 S.E. Division St. It’s
been around forever and can fit you into chaps,
boots, vests or anything else made from animal
hide. For those who are more into bikers than
traditional leather, check out any of the awe
some Harley-Davidson dealers in Portland area.
These retailers have everything from chaps to
real motorcycle gear for men and women (and
even kids). Go to Latus Motors Harley-
Davidson, 11011 N. Vancouver Way; Paradise
Harley-Davidson, 10770 S.W. Cascade Ave. in
Tigard; or Columbia Motorcycle/Harley-
Davidson, 1314 N.E. 102nd Ave. in Vancouver,
Wash.
For leather and lace apparel, no one beats
Victoria’s Secret. Great bras. Great panties.
Great thongs. Cheap, accessible—just go to any
area mall and get your lace on. Another good
place to visit at the local mall is Hot Topic.
They have a zillion choices for Goth wear,
rocker wear and accessories from black nail
polish to glow-in-the-dark fishnet stockings.
For toys, high heels, corsets and other
assorted nasty-things, stop at Cathie’s
Lingerie and Novelties, 8201 S.E. Powell Blvd.
The staff is friendly and willing to talk to you
about everything from French maid costumes
to butt plugs. For leather, fetish wear and
everything from swings to strap-ons, visit
Spartacus, 300 S.W. 12th Ave.
Finally, for those Portlanders out there
who love a bargain, I’m told by Marlene
Kendrick of Portland Leather Alliance that
nothing beats going to a thrift store or
Goodwill and picking up a “pervertable dress."
All you do is find a lace or see-through dress
with a sturdy and altogether hideous lining.
Cut out the lining and—voila!—you have
perverted this plain and simple frock into a
sexy, tawdry thing of beauty. Gotta love it!
