Anyone who has been targeted by queer tourists
for their fauxhawk or Cher concert T-shirt, fielding
questions about where the gay bars are, will appre
ciate a new brochure created by the Portland
Oregon Visitors Association.
Gay Portland: A Resource Guide for the GLBT
Visitor is a full-color brochure dividing the city by
quadrants, with recommendations to queer-owned
or welcoming restaurants, bars, coffee shops, the
aters, museums and venues. It also lists organizations
of interest to queer travelers or those who want to
learn more about the lavender side of Portland.

Some say the commissioner with energy to spare
is cranking out press releases to gain visibility and
position himself for the 2008 mayoral election.
