Multnomah County is seeking a Database
Administrator SQL Server/Data Ware­
house. This position supports the Rela­
tional Database Management System used
by the Department of Community and
Family Services and all functions related
to such database administration. Database
Administrator will also be an integral part
of the Data'Resources Team which is
responsible for the development, evalua­
tion and implementation of a comprehen­
sive data warehouse as well as the analy­
sis, design, implementation, and mainten­
ance of new and existing relational data­
bases. Work location is downtown
Portland. The Database Administrator will
install, implement, manage, and upgrade
RDBMS software (MS SQL Server);
create databases and all database compo­
nents; design database models; implement
and manage all facets of the physical
layout of database objects, and RDBMS
use of hard disk space; ensure that
database and transaction log backups are
performed regularly; manage all security
for database access and for application
front-ends; monitor RDBMS and database
performance; and perform regular data­
base maintenance. Requires five years of
increasingly responsible systems analysis
and programming experience. At least
three years of database programming
experience and six months project coordi­
nation experience; AND a Bachelors
degree or equivalent from an accredited
college or university with major course
work in computer science, information
systems or a related field. Starting salary
is $24.77 per hour ($24.77- $30.47 full
