at the Metropolitan Community Church of
Portland, 2400 N.E. Broadway. Sponsored by
the Lesbian Community Project, the event
also features a full evening of enter
tainment. Slated to appear are the
Portland Lesbian Choir, Galloway
and Luckett, Theresa Demarest,
comedian Pagan A. Thomsen and,
last hut not least, champion hand
whistler Sally Cohn. The venue is
wheelchair accessible. The event will
be sign interpreted and feature speak
ers from No on 9 and the North
west Rainbow Alliance of the
Deaf. The feeding frenzy begins
at 6 p.m. and lasts until 9 p.m. or
until the sauce runs out— whichever comes
first! A $5-$10 donation is requested.

Film fans flock to test
on’t miss the last weekend! Sensory Per
ceptions presents the fourth annual Les-
bian/Gay/Bi/Trans Film Festival through
Oct. 22 at Cinema 21, 616 N.W. 21st Ave. O n
Oct. 20, meet Ahneé and Jaguar, followed by
the Gypsy Boys. O n Oct. 21, don’t miss Eban
and Charley, produced and shot in Oregon by
some Portland filmmakers. The controversial
film depicts the relationship between a 29-year-
old man and a 15-year-old deaf boy. The festi
val concludes Oct. 22 with Margaret C ho’s
concert film I’m the One That I Want, followed
by a party across the street at the Gypsy. Tick
ets are on sale at In O ther Words, Gai-Pied

f you miss Margaret C ho’s movie at the film
fest, it returns to Cinema 2 1 for a limited run
Oct. 27 through Nov. 2. A self-proclaimed
bisexual, she details her adventures in Holly-
wtxxl as the first Asian American to have her
own sitcom. Other raw material includes family
ties and struggles with personal demons. Yet,
somehow she makes it all really funny— or per
haps we’re just relieved it’s not our life!

If the Tuesday thing is too big a problem,
spook on over to the Stargate Lounge at C hop
sticks Express II, 2651 E. Burnside St., which is
throwing its Karaoke Halloween Party from
8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Oct. 28. Go in costume and
earn the $1 drink special.
And on Oct. 29, Jtxq s gets a head start on
Halloween with a fire show and costume strip
pers. The fun begins at 8 p.m., and there is no
cover charge.
