A
s reported in the Oct. 6 issue of Just
Out, a portion of the AIDS Memo
rial Quilt is on display at Portland’s
First Congregational United
Church ot Christ, 1126 S.W. Park
Ave. The 128 panels, most in memory of North
west residents, can be viewed through Oct. 28.
What was not previously reported, however,
is the emotional impact the quilt carries. You
need not have known in life the almost 200 men
and women represented in these panels to feel
the grief and sadness of their parting. And as you
view the quilt remember, AIDS is not over.
