VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Description: Cascade AIDS Project
(CAP), the leading HIV prevention,
housing, advocacy and services
organization in Oregon and
Southwest Washington, seeks an ex­
perienced, seasoned and successful
Volunteer Coordinator to develop,
manage, evaluate and strengthen the
volunteer system through which 800
youth and adults volunteer over
33,500 hours valued at over $600,000
annually in the agency’s twenty-plus
programs through its Portland,
Hillsboro and Vancouver, Washington
offices.
Responsibilities: CAP’S Volunteer
Coordinator functions as the lead staff
position for development, implementa­
tion, evaluation, consultation and
analysis of the agency’s large, multi­
faceted volunteer system, including:
recruitment, orientation, training and
placement; development of agency­
wide policies and procedures; facilita­
tion of and consultation to staff volun­
teer management team; evaluation of
systems for effectiveness and efficien­
cy; implementation and analysis of
annual evaluation plan; development
of mechanisms for recognition and
retention; promotion of volunteer
opportunities across the Portland
metro area; maximization of area vol­
unteer resources; and collaboration
with related organizations.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree
in related field; demonstrated profes­
sional volunteer management suc­
cess in comparably large, complex
program; program planning, budget­
ing and evaluation experience;
excellent verbal and written commu­
nication skills; strong interpersonal
and public speaking skills; proficien­
cy in MS Office products, including
database management.
Compensation: Up to $34,000,
depending on experience, skills and
education; employer-paid health,
dental, long-term disability and life
insurance; 403(b) tax-deferred annu­
ity; option of flex-time schedule.
