Creating the Spirit of Pride awards was a way for the Pride Northwest board to acknowledge those contributions. She says Waddell & Reed supported her, but some of her clients were not so pleased and consequently she lost a few of them. “1 had gone through a lot with Measure 9 and there were threats made to myself and family,” she says. “The award was good affir­ mation that what 1 was doing was well- Pride Northwest is seeking nominations from the community for this year's Spirit of Pride awards, which are slated to be presented during the pride festivities in June.
