This is not a mail-in election— you must go to your precinct polling place to vote by 8 pm on Tuesday, May 21. Two simultaneous elections complicate matters somewhat for voters in the 3rd Congressional District: One is a special general election to fill the remainder of the term for the seat vacated when U.S. Rep. Ron Wyden was elected U.S. senator, and one is for the regular primary nomination for the 3rd District. In both elections we endorse Earl Blumenauer. Another complicated situation arises in Oregon Senate District 8, where the Democratic ballot will list Bill McCoy and Thomas Wilde. McCoy died of a heart attack in April, and the secretary of state’s office was unable to reprint the ballots. Just Out encourages voters to write in . ■ » . . - . I . I » . . . _ - , Margaret Carter for the Democratic nomination. Remember to darken the circle next to the write-in line or the vote won’t count. Carter is also running for re-election to the Oregon House of Representatives District 18. If nominated for both seats she will have to decide which to run for in the November general election. If she wins the nomination for the Oregon Senate seat and she decides to pursue that race in the general election, then the Democratic Party will choose someone to represent it in the House District 18 race. W here a district is not listed, no endorsement could be made or there was no candidate. We did not look at county races other than Multnomah, or city races other than Portland. - ¿ « O C R A T .C ^ NATIONAL N A T IO N A L ST A T E c o n t. united State* Vote tor one U.S. Senate Anna Nevenich, Democrat JERRY BUST District District District District V -V - BU.LDWYEB w ANNANEVENgW,.«^ f m Representative in Congress 1st District: Elizabeth Furse, Democrat 3rd District: Earl Blumenauer, Democrat 4th District: Peter DeFazio, Democrat Vb2'S p One S**** « E l 'Z abe ******* § - ^ ^ _ * f Y, f v. .«¡a » » « - . . . . .
