Susannah Mars, Rick Lewis and Eric Hadley—
who portrayed the three principal characters caught
within Falsettos' turbulent relationship triangle—
all received nominations for their unforgettable
performances. Theatergoers who missed Mars’
particularly memorable performance in Falsettos
will have a chance to see her next season in
triangle’s staging of The Twilight o f the Golds
with Rob Buckmaster, which is scheduled to open
in January.
Jeffrey,
triangle’s popular production about
about

gay sensibilities in the ’90s received five nomina­
tions and two awards at the ceremony. Michael
Mendelson— who won a best actor award for his
performance in triangle’s 1992 production of
Bent— captured this year’s award for his support­
ing role in Jeffrey. Billed in Jeffrey as “Woman,”
but most entertaining for her portrayal of charis­
matic evangelist Debra Moorhouse in the produc­
tion, Sarah Lucht won an award for best support­
ing actress. Both actors, along with the rest of the
cast, will reprise their roles in an encore presenta­
tion of Jeffrey in the Artists Repertory Theater
space July 14 through Aug. 12. If you missed the
performance this past
spring, you will not want
to pass up this summer
revival. Should you fail
to attend, look for
Orion’s big-screen ad­
aptation of the play, set
to open in late summer
in movie theaters across
the country.
Next season prom­
ises to he just as auspicious for triangle produc­
tions!, as it prepares to mount the highly praised
off-Broadway musical Ruthless, as well as the
current off-Broadway success You Should Be So
Lucky!, which Don Horn plans to direct.
