The Rev. Roy A. Cole, pastor o f Portland’s M etropolitan Com m unity Church, will deliver the serm on. The service, which is wheelchair accessible and will be interpreted for the hearing im paired, runs from 9 to 10 am. The church is located at the co m er o f Southwest 12th Avenue and Salm on Street. The 20th A nnual Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade, Rally and Festival kicks o ff at 11 am at the North Park Blocks in Portland. Pride N orth west, the sponsor o f the event, asks parade participants to arrive at least an hour earlier. The grand marshals for the parade are Bruce Amsbary of B end’s Beyond The Closet, a group that promotes diversity and understanding via com munity events, and LaV em e Lewis, executive director o f the Lesbian Com m unity Project, which provides services to O regon’s lesbian community. T he parade route winds through downtown Portland and ends with a rally and festival at W aterfront Park, Southw est Front Avenue at Colum bia Street. An estimated 15,000 are expected to attend the rally.
