expressed by comic art. is
stuck between the ridiculous
and the reprehensible. A
notable exception is the work
of Professor IB Gittendowne,
the alter ego of Rupert
Kinnard, whose Cathartic
Comics have appeared in the
San Francisco Sentinel, the
SF Weekly and Just Out
Rupert Kinnard, the
Brown Bomber, and the
Diva Touché Flambé will
garnish the largest
exposure yet with the
release of an anthology of
the strips published by
Alyson Publications called
BB and the Diva: A Collection
of Cathartic Comics.
