The Windy City Athletic Association will be hosting the 10-12 team tournament the weekend of February 8-10. The organizers promise a fun-filled time of exciting basketball, an opening night party. Portland’s gay leagues are the largest in the state. The short season (15 weeks) includes an annual picnic at O a k s Park, an awards banquet, and Portland’s only international sporting events, the Rosebow l C lassic. There are also weekly monte carlo drawings for cash. The league not only provides a social outlet, it also donates to various community groups. Last year’s open­ ing day events sa w an overflow crowd, so the League is starting a Tuesday evening session to accomo­ date the many bowlers in our commu­ nity. D ign ity Portland, the organization for gay and lesbian Roman Catholics and their friends, invites all gay and lesbian community organizations to send two representatives to their annual community dinner dinner (see Calendar). The group’s repertoire is rooted in the tradition of black American a capella choral sing­ ing. You won’t want to miss this one.
