An excerpt from the Executive Summary of the Report follows: R The Report includes 21 recommendations for the City of Seattle, Seattle Public Schools, agencies providing social and health services to youth and families, and the media. Major recommendations seek to address the needs of young people for accurate, objective, and relevant information about sexual orientation, supportive counseling and other social services, and protection from harassment and dis crimination. For example, the Commission recommends that the Seattle School District incorporate ap propriate information about sexual orientation into the curricula of existing health and family life courses and that teachers receive training about the problems and special needs of gay and lesbian students. The Commission also recom mends that the District adopt explicit written policies reflecting prohibition of discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orienta tion. as well as harassment of gay and lesbian students A limited number of copies of the Report, published with the January 1989 edition of Guide Magazine, are available for $ 1 plus 75 cent s postage and handling from One In Ten Publishing, 1535 11th Avenue, Suite 20.
