It’s a w itch hunt! Are you next? W hat is M easure 8? How Can I Help? Sponsored by the ultra right wing, Ballot Measure 8 in Oregon Is the first statewide vote in the country seeking to revoke an existing statewide policy of non-discrimination based on sexual o rie n ta tio n . This initiative is no more and no less than Jerry Falwell’s and the religious right’s attem pt to erode the rights all of us have fought so hard to secure. We must view this as an at tack on our entire community, not just the community in Oregon. Help stop them in Oregon now before they try the same thing in your part of America. Give generously. “This is a critical election. We’ve been making progress in Washington, D.C., because we’ve been able to con vince members of Congress that anti gay and lesbian prejudice has been diminished in the electorate. Passage of this initiative, especially in a state known to be as pro gressive as Oregon, would be danger ous and very detri mental to our goals in Washington and would strongly send the wrong mes sage to Congress. We must all get actively Involved in defeating Measure 8 in Oregon.” •• Rev. Troy 0.
