Friday, June 17: KBOO’s third annual Lesbian and Gay Pride Special: interviews, comedy, music and news, hosted by Linda Shirley, Howie Baggadonutz, L.C. Eamst and others. Special guests: Bay area comics Tom Ammiano and Karen Ripley. 9 am-1 pm. Friday, June 17: “ Pride and Laughter” : An une 18 will mark the 13th annual Lesbian and Gay Pride march through Portland. The march will start about noon at the North Park Blocks, located between 8th and 9th avenues at Bumside and Davis streets. The walk will pro ceed to Waterfront Park, where there will be an array of entertainment and speakers beginning at 1 pm. There will also be a beer garden and booth displays with art, food and information about organizations. The Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee 1988 issued this statement:4‘As the commercial says, ‘If every person volunteered one hour of time . . There are many groups in need of help, and ours is no exception. There is a need for task workers to help out the morning and day of the march and rally. There is a need for people willing to work as security during the march or rally. We will provide training and a free T-shirt; we just need people to fill them. We also need ASL interpreters to work an hour or two during the rally.
