I went to the AIDS Quilt first, before the
rally. I got really quiet and somber, seeing the
names o f 2,000 people who had died. Rock
Hudson’s square was pretty amazing. Some
queen really went to town with the sequins. Roy
C ohn’s just blew me aw ay— “ Bully, Coward,
Victim’’ it read, with “ Coward’’ over a pink
triangle. I saw the names of some people from
Portland that I didn’t even know had died.
