Portland hosts 5th annual
P/FLAG convention
The Portland chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, Inc. will host the
international organization's fifth annual convention September 19-21 at the Westin Benson
Hotel.
Highlights o f the convention inlcude a plenary session on AIDS coordinated by Gary
MacDonald, Executive Director of the Washington, D.C.-based AIDS Action Council: a keynote
speech by Martin Weinberg, sex researcher and author of ‘‘Development of Sexual Orienta­
tion” ; workshops on politics, health, homophobia, etc.; and a Columbia River stemwheeler
cruise.
Registration fee for the convention is $98 and includes all sessions, workshops, materials,
Friday night entertainment, Saturday night banquet and three luncheons. Make checks
payable to Portland Parents FLAG and send to registrars Charles & Rita Knapp, 7215 SE

In the schedule please note each session may be attended upon payment o f the fee
indicated. The Columbia River cruise costs an additional $33.
