It will consist of ‘shelves' built along the walls holding various mixed-media construc tions, with other objects placed around the floor so that the entire space becomes a sort of mythological ruin referring to the cyclic series of birth, death, and rebirth of an individual or a civilization. Gischer's paintings in the East Gallery are illusionistic still-lifes with real objects attached to their surfaces in such a way that it is difficult for the viewer to ascertain, without poking and prodding, what is 'real' and what is not.
