conceded by many of the soundest minds
that Seattle will Anally become the mis
tress of the Pacific coast, as New York is
on the Atlantic ; and the only reason tint
Seattle is not now in this position is be

All the great valleys of Washington and
Oregon and what drains the largest and
heaviest resources of the Pacific coast, And
the nearest good harbor at Seattle. It is
now being generally understood that Kant
