The M. E. Church at
Salem, Oregon, is, with
out a doubt, the handsom

built entirely of brick,
and cost about $35,000.

The Territorial Uni
versity, at Seattle, W. T.,
is located on a beautiful
site of ten acres near the
centre of the city, and on
a sloping eminence over
looking the bay. The
main building, a large,
imposing, and well-built
structure, was erected in
1862, at a cost of $35,000.
On the grounds are situ
ated the President's resi
dence, and a large boarding-house
for young men.
