county offices to be filled this year; several candidates
have filed declarations with the county clerk, among those
filing are the names of W. H. Singler and G. A. Gardner,
present incumbents of the offices of sheriff and county

Both these gentlemen have made good in their re-
spective offices and in accordance with the usages of the
party are entitled to another term and if nominated are
practically sure of election.
For county recorder Chauncey Florey, republican and
Lee Jacobs, democrat, have filed declarations. Both are
young men of ability, with a wide circle of friends and
acquaintances through the county and if nominated by
their respective parties will no doubt make an interesting
race at the polls.
The contest for nominations is young yet and from
indications plenty of material will be offered from which
the dear people may select their candidates.
