Local amateur astronomers have
been busy the last two or three even
ings watching a comet that is plainly
visible on the western horizon early in
the evening. The heavenly visitor
can be seen under the handle of the
dipper, or to be more accurate, under
the extreme end of the dipper handle
and about half way down towards the
horizon. It can be seen just about as
soon as the sun sets, but later in the
evening it descends below the horizon,

The comet has a long tail which ex

to a dull grayish color.
The identity of the comet is some
what of a mystery. It is suppos d to
