FOR BETTER ROADS.
OFFICIAL PAPER OF THE CITY OF JACK
SONVILLE. OREGON
The Mail Tribune in a recent editorial
article touches up the subject of good
roads, made by the Portland Oregonian
anil commenting warmly thereon, to
i which comments all thinking readers
will devoutly say “Aman”.
If there is any one subject in which
the residents and property owners of a
district, county, or state should mani
fest a lively and abiding interest, it is
the q jestion of good roads. There is
no investment which will yield better
returns than money invested in building
good roads, the increase in value of
lands contiguous to the road will in
every instance amount to many times
the cost of building the road to say
nothing of the convenience, the ease of >
travel and lessened cost of transporta
tion and travel.
