IMPROVEMENTS AT
A. S. ROSENBAUM, Agent S. P. Co., Medford, Oregon
THE COURTHOUSE
Frightful Fate Averted.
In accordance with the recommenda
tion of the grand jury, work has been
bega i for the improvement of sanitary
conditions at the courthouse and jail.
A well is being dug and a pumping
plant and complete sewera je system
will be installed which when completed
will be quite an improvement over
present conditions. It is hoped that
the improvements will include a new
fence an 1 cement walks also.
Judge Neil is tole commended f<r
the commencement of improvements at
the courthouse and jail. Conditions
which existed twenty-five years ago no
longer exist and accommodations and
facilities which were considered ade-
<^int J at that time are outgrown and
insufficient for the present day.
The installation of a pumping plant
and system of sewerage is a necessary
improvement and several other things,
such as additional room in the various
offices, some new furniture, etc., are
needed to facilitate the transaction of
the ever increasing business of the
county. In additon, the replacing the
fence with a new one of wire and the
seeding of the ground surrounding the
courthouse with lawn grass would add
much to the appearance anil be com
paratively inexpensive.
Jackson county is one of Oregon’s
most prosperous counties anil her peo
ple will be glad to learn that the
county property is properly cared for.
