The Committee has inyestigatedthe Supply
in
lackson Creek.
That we need water is not question- 1
ed, but the source of supply is the
question confronting the city board.
Jackson Creek was investigated last
week by the board and it is thought
that a sufficient supply can be had by
placing a concrete dam at the inter
section of Cantrell Gulch and Jackson
Creek. Five inches of surface water
is now running in Jackson Creek and
lit is quite probable that live inches is
seeping its way through the loose soil.
This is sufficient to supply a town of
5000 population.
Roseburg has an eighth-inch pipe
feeding a reservoir and during the
dry season of the year only 16 hours of
pumping is resorted to daily. Rose
burg is a city much larger than Jack- ■
sonville, and should require more water. I
If you are interested in water come
out and show your interest. Don’t
stand around on the street corners and
say "I told you so" after it is too late
or criticise the board. Come out and
say yes or no. You don’t want to be
considered a drone in the city. Jack
sonville must tell the coast-bound
Easterner that we have a water system
supplied with pure mountain water.

Cottonseed oil is very much like olive oil, the
only difference beiug that the Fairhank process of
treating cottonseed oil makes it much milder in flavor.
These vegetable oils are exceedingly wholesome be

Cottolene is used alone, or with part butter, for
