tion of the delinquent tax list, publish the list of
each "precinct in the nearest newspaper. This
will give better service and reduce the expense
one-half.
If the weather keeps up its little flinor. it will

the thing, but it s working up an early spring; so
looks as if it was time to sing, to make the hills
and valleys ring, start the birdies on the wing, it
may be loolish but it smells like spring.

Oregon newspaper men in a proposed
bill ask the legislature to define what
constitutes a newspaper, which may not
be a bad idea, but the average editor is
content to leave thatmatter to his read
ers. Hillsboro Independent.
When we look at some so-called newspapers,
we are much inclined to doubt the judgment ot
the readers.
The farmers rule in North Dakota. Forming a
non-partisan body, they drove out the politicians
and are in possession of every department of the
state government. Now they propose to do some
legislating in the interest of themselves and the
people in general. Their work will be watched
with much interest and if their efforts bear fruit,
the people of other states will be brave enough to
follow their example and do considerable clean
ing up on their own premises.

them mightly to multiply. The wild west show
we patronized liberally but hoping inwardly that
